Effective ideas:
Car headlights worms eye shot of somebody lurking outside (I think you should try to get shots of a face at the window) The girl disappearing is a good idea Phone ringing could be used as a sound bridge
To plan more carefully: I think you should consider cutting between the students in the living room to low angle tilt shots of the person lurking outside - this will build suspense/drama
Doorbell will work and girl disappearing but cliff hanger needs to be considered. Think about the following: The girl that remains could go outside with a torch and a hand goes round her throat could work. Torches are also generic and are used in Spooks and Scandinavian noir thrillers.
Be careful with dialogue, I would improvise this....you could have the students looking at pics on a computer and they see the shadow of somebody they don't know.....this is where the soundtrack could kick in.....
Think about it....you can present more of your planning this way Liam. You are the first in Year 12 media to submit a video diary.
Your planning needs to be urgently updated to include details of purpose of locations, costume, character types, lighting etc. Link to researched films and TV dramas and thriller conventions.
